Homalonena davidiana crinipes NEW
Homalonena davidiana crinipes is native to areas of Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia and Malaysia. This stunning plant is loved not only for the fact that the are low maintenance queens but also for their striking dark green leaves with prominent white veins, and uniquely patterned stems.
☀️These plants love bright and indirect light but will also thrive in low light conditions, making it a good choice for indoor spaces with limited sunlight.
💧Allow your homalomena to mostly dry between waterings but not entirely. This will protect the plant from root rot. If you begin to see your leaves drooping this can be a sign that your plant is thirsty.
〰️Homalomena will grow happily at ambient humidity. However, if your humidity is too low you see crisping or browning at the tips of the leaves. This isn't detrimental to the plant's health, but can look unsightly. You can increase humidity in your home by misting, grouping plants close together or sitting pot plants on a saucer filled with pebbles and water.
🌡️Homalomena like most popular houseplants, prefer temperatures between 18°C-30°C which is similar to their tropical native habitat. They can be slightly frost sensitive so if your planning on planting them in a garden its best to give them a sheltered positing like under a tree.
🍴Homalomena do well with frequent fertilising with either liquid fertiliser or slow release granules can also be used in potting mix.
✂️These plants rarely need trimming except to remove old leaves.
🪴Give them well draining soil - adding about 20% to 30% perlite into your standard premium potting mix will do the trick.
❓Toxic to pets!
