The Calathea has stunning, but unusual abstract patterns on its leaves that will really brighten an area in your home. Calatheas are known to be temperamental - for a happy plant these guys need a bright non harsh light position and to dry in the soil before another water. 

Calathea Freddy is part of the prayer plant family (Marantaceae) but tends to require less maintenance than its relatives, ctenanthe and marantas. It thrives in shady outdoor areas in warm, frost-free climates, making it an ideal groundcover in tropical-style or low-maintenance gardens.
