Introducing the stunning and oh so loved Astrophytum asterias, this is a species of cactus native to small parts of Texas and Mexico. They are also commonly called the sand dollar cactus, sea urchin cactus or astro among the cacti lovers. There are many different hybrids of this species that present in many different ways making it a very collectable variety. Astrophytum asterias hybrids are characterised as having a green body covered with different patterns of small white speckles or dots. The body is described as a flat and round disc that is divided into sections known as ribs. They have no spines but has round tuffs of hair known as areoles. There are a variety of different coloured flowers that can be produced depending on the hybrid.

☀️This plant requires bright, indirect light but harsh direct sunlight needs to be avoided as this can scorch the leaves.

💧Overwatering can lead to rot, so it's best to allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

〰️These plants don’t have any special requirements when it comes to humidity. Ambient is perfectly fine for these guys.
