Begonia Maurice Amey (sometimes referred to as “Miss Mummy”) is a dazzling large shrub-like begonia. This outstanding variety was named after the late Maurice Amey, who was a member of the Southwest Region and American Begonia Society. The large leaves on this stunner are a bright metallic pink with faint silver spots all over the top of each leaf. The main veins are dark olive green and the back of the leaf is dark red. When it is getting ideal light (lots of bright light and a little sun) the leaves have a silver rim on them. This is a fast grower and branches readily. The flower are bright pink and hang in small clusters.

Begonias are robust plants; they come in many sizes, colours and leaf shapes, and bear flowers for many months. This Begonia is sure to be an eye catcher with its super bright vibrant colours.

 Care Specks:

These plants love partial shade outdoors or bright indirect light indoors

Allow it to mostly dry between waterings but not entirely

Give them well draining soil - adding about 20% to 30% perlite into your standard premium potting mix will do the trick.

These guys are tropical/sub-tropical so prefer high humidity - dark brown, crisp looking marks on leaf edges are usually caused by low humidity.
Begonias rarely need trimming except to remove injured branches and old flower clusters.

Toxic to pets!

These plants are moderately frost tolerant but begonias are easily killed by hard freezes.

(You will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the one seen in the images.)

Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour or shape.
