Begonia staudtii is a stunning species native to areas of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea in West Africa. In its natural habitat this plant grows on the bottom of coastal rainforest in moist area such as mossy rocks.

It is described as having uniform green leaves, which are strongly bullate. This refers to the pimply or bumpy like leaf texture. To add to the drama this plant is covered with tiny hairs on both sides of the leaf. It also produced stunning small, bright yellow flowers that contrast beautifully against its green leaves.

 Care Specks:

These plants love partial shade outdoors or bright indirect light indoors

Allow it to mostly dry between waterings but not entirely

Give them well draining soil - adding about 20% to 30% perlite into your standard premium potting mix will do the trick.

These guys are tropical/sub-tropical so prefer high humidity - dark brown, crisp looking marks on leaf edges are usually caused by low humidity.

Begonias rarely need trimming except to remove injured branches and old flower clusters.

Toxic to pets!

These plants are moderately frost tolerant but begonias are easily killed by hard freezes.

(You will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the one seen in the images.)

Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour or shape.
