The Silver Dollar Vine is a summer-growing climbing shrub from areas of Madagascar. Surprisingly this stunner is related to the cucumber which is why this vine has a similar climbing behaviour.

Although described as climber, the Silver Dollar Vine forms a loose scrambling kind of shrub as it turns into a large plant. It also produces a small caudex (tuber) at the base and yellow-green flowers appear in clusters over Spring and Summer.

This is a desert plant which requires a good amount of direct sun to thrive and keep its stunning silver colouring. Water regularly and deeply over summer when the plant is growing but allow the soil to dry out for the most part between waterings.

This plant tolerates a wide range of temperatures. It can handle cold without problems, including light frost.

The Silver Dollar Vine does not require much fertilizer however using a slow release fertiliser in your potting medium can be beneficial.

(Each living plant is unique and may vary slightly in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available. You will receive a bare rooted plant similar to the ones in the pictures.)
